Learn to Make Your Own
Face & Body Creams

What if you could make a cream that:

  • feels amazing on your skin,

  • is inexpensive,

  • and only takes 30 minutes?

Oh, and the only ingredients are the ones you actually want on your skin.

You’d want to learn to do it for yourself, wouldn’t you?

There are so many reasons why people want to make their own body care products.

  • Some people are concerned about the petrochemicals disrupting your hormones that are in so many creams, lotions, shampoos, etc.  They just want healthy ingredients.

  • Some folks are tired of using the cheap stuff because it doesn’t really work.  It’s greasy &/or it dries out your skin.  (Pro tip: the expensive stuff is often still crappy, but for a higher price)

  • Other people want to save money because they’re done with the rising prices of everything.

  • Some folks want cream that actually works well!  Stuff that genuinely nourishes and moisturizes your skin.

  • And some people just have a DO IT YOURSELF spirit because having skills builds a resilient community.

You have your own reasons to make your own creams and lotions, of course.

And once you know how to make it yourself, you can’t go back

Imagine :

You’re towelling off after a wonderful shower. The room is warm and steamy.

You’re feeling clean and refreshed! Your body is ready to soak in all this moisturizing goodness.

You reach for your new, homemade body cream.  You take a good scoop.

No need to be stingy anymore.  Use as much as you need to.  Nourish your skin all over.  It’s ok to give the body what it needs.

How good does it feel to cover yourself from head to toe with these wonderful, nourishing oils?

I don’t know which part of your body will appreciate most, but I do know that your body will love you for it!

The Only Two Objections I’ve ever heard + My Responses…

  1. “It takes too long.” - Yes and No, is my response.

Of course, your first batch will take longer than your second (which will take longer than your third, etc).  You’re learning a new skill, of course you’ll get better with practice!

From start to finish, you can do this entire process in about 30 minutes (ALONGSIDE getting some dishes done, making a snack, a cup of tea &/or indulging in IG)

  2. “It’s too hard / it won’t work”  - Yes and No, again.

If you’re awe-struck by mayonnaise, then yes, it’ll be too hard for you.

But if seeing oil bonded to water no longer seems like alchemy to you, then you’ll do just fine.  (Seriously, my 11 year old helps me make cream as holiday gifts every year)

And Yes, simply put - cream is just oil and water that bond instead of separating.

Why Make Your Own Creams?

Because it feels great!  Drying off after a shower and reaching for a jar of the Moisturizing Cream that you made simply feels wonderful and deeply satisfying.  "And for much less than if I'd bought it," you may find yourself saying when you tell friends how easy and fun it is.How valuable is it to you to know what goes on your skin?  or your kids?  and in your body?  When you make it yourself, you have clarity and confidence about what ingredients to use.  Many commercial creams and cosmetics have questionable or even toxic ingredients.

Description...

Both classes are hands-on, active classes.  Because busy hands have more fun, learn better, retain more, ask better questions and build more confidence.  Participants will be in small groups of 3-4 per work station.

In Creams for Beginners, we'll go through the step by step process of making a simple cream from start to finish.  The aim is that everyone leaves with 2 things: the confidence to do it again on their own and the recipe.  We talk about how to choose the right oils, tools,  essential oils and herbs.

In Advanced Creams, we'll explore a couple recipes that tend to be more challenging.  We'll introduce some new ingredients that really add some frill to a cream.  This is where more options open up for making medicinally creams and lotions.  Creams can tone skin to reduce wrinkles, treat varicose veins from a face toning cream to a hemorrhoid cream to a cream for athlete's foot.
